I don’t know what happened to you
Only that it did
See, I see a story in your eyes
That your lips barely hid
You have loved those with love
That combust your soul and set it on fire
That was love, sure it’s love
But not the type you require
And you move like the air
on an autumn day
As if one more harsh word could
sweep you up and take you away
I wonder if I’ve walked past you on the road
Or if we’ve shared a subway car
I wonder if you’re three blocks away
Or if you’re more than a far
I wonder if I’ve looked at you,
Smiled at you with my eyes,
And if you’re one of those strangers
That gives me fleeting butterflies
I wonder if I’ve passed by you
Or if we’ve walked the same worn streets
I wonder what the circumstances will be
Of the day we’ll finally meet
I wonder what your laugh is like
And what we’ll name our cat
I wonder where we’ll end up
Or where we’ll buy our first flat
I wonder about you from time to time
Wonder when you and I will be
Because everyone has a someone
And I believe there’s a you for me
The lucky ones. (a poem of goodbye)
There was never a labeled you and me. But There didn’t have to be,
honestly.
Because I’ll still smile when I think of you
You’re the greatest one I ever knew.
And sweetie, maybe it was love,
And yes, it certainly was tough
But now that it’s over and it’s done
We’re both still the lucky ones.
Dear Love,
I may not know you yet. I may have known you all my life. Either way… I so look forward to my future with you.
You’ll be the one I can get dressed up with, and go to fancy dinners or parties with… Even if it’s only once in a while and just for the hell of it.
You’ll be the one I can cook with, and laugh with, and play around with. We can stay in for the night in just sweats, with a stack of movies. We can cuddle up on the couch and stay up all night together.
You’ll be the one I can take a spontaneous trips with. We can catch a train in the middle of the night to wherever we want to go, with just the clothes on our back and the money in our pockets.
And it’ll be the two of us in this big bad world.
Because out there somewhere is my soul mate… And I’m waiting to figure out who you are.
I will love you, I will love you beautifully.
Dear person reading this,
Stop hating yourself.
Stop starving yourself.
Stop hurting yourself.
You are worth so much. I promise.
You may want that goal weight but please do it healthily.
I believe in you.
I love you.
So please… Stop.
Be healthy. Be happy.
And love yourself.

The funny thing about people.
It’s funny. When you first meet someone you have NO idea what part they’ll play in your life. They could be your new best friend, your worst enemy, your lover, or the one that’s soon to be the one that got away. You don’t know how many times they’ll make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry, or happy. You simply do not know. They could be anyone. They could change the course of your life forever, and right now… as you’re telling them your name… You have no idea. That’s the beauty of it.

A poem from five months ago.
You are all
I think about
When the world is dark
And lights are out
You,
Yes, you.
The one I write
The letters to
You are all I think about.
