“They cut themselves for attention.”: Reality Check.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? No. Honestly. Is this a joke?

Self harm happens and it happens a lot to a lot of people for a lot of reasons. Most of the time you won’t know someone’s story and you WON’T ASK. Because people just don’t.

But it’s funny because people talk. They say… “They’re only doing it for attention.”

No. Shut your mouth. Do you know their reasons, their story, their pain, their struggles, their past? Do you know how many nights they cry, or the people they’ve lost, or the friends they had that it turns out weren’t their friends at all? Do you know if they’ve been beaten, or raped, or used, or abused? Do you know if they have a relationship with their parents, or if they’re failing all their classes, or if they’re getting bullied? Do you know of they have an eating disorder, or a mental disorder? DO YOU KNOW THEIR STORY?

Cutting becomes an addiction. People try and fight it but the endorphins become addictive, and the farther in you get, the harder it is to get out.

I am so tired of the line, “They’re cutting themselves for attention.” Most likely they’re not… But if they are… Well how fucking awful is it that they have been made to feel so low, so alone, so ignored that they resort to self harm? Cutting could be their last attempt to cry out for help… To attempt to get someone’s attention because the next time they snap they might just cut a little too deep.

Stop.
Just stop.
Never say “They cut themselves for attention,” again.
You don’t know their story.
You don’t know anything.

Alright jerk wads, (not you my lovely followers… You are not jerk wads)

This is to the people who bash my photos….
This is not because you hurt my pride, or insulted my work, or anything like that.

For those of you who don’t know onehundreddayproject.com is a blog where people submit their reasons to lose weight, and I make them a graphic.

These people, anonymous or not, are brave enough to share their motivation with the entire internet population. Some of the reasons may seem shallow, but you have to understand these are the reasons to them that are BEYOND “I want to lose weight for myself”. And for you to have the NERVE to insult their reason because it’s “vain…” well that is not only unsupportive.., but it’s also rude.

Someone out there uses that reason to motivate themselves and neither you, nor I have the right to judge.

Think before you hate.
